Community Outreach

Ritz Creative Connections is the Ritz Theatre’s community outreach initiative, created to introduce young audiences to the arts and inspire a lifelong appreciation for them, particularly among students who may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience them.

Catch us each month at downtown’s Art Walk, where you can explore, learn about, and play a variety of percussion instruments at our Music Discovery station.

Ritz Learning Live! brings the fine arts directly into schools through a four-lesson course designed for elementary students with little to no performing arts experience. Each lesson includes a warm-up game, short lesson, and hands-on activity, with the course length adjustable to meet each school’s needs.

Held in students’ own classrooms, lessons are aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and encourage creativity, confidence, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills that extend beyond the fine arts classroom and into students’ academic, social, and everyday lives. This year, we launched our Theatre course and look forward to expanding Ritz Learning Live! into additional fine arts subjects as the program grows.
